From ONTD. (Source: Snitchseeker & The Leaky Couldron)

Exclusive: Tonks has only one scene in Half-Blood Prince

This past weekend I attended Collectormania 13 in Milton Keynes, England, where, amongst others, Natalia Tena (Tonks) was present. She told me about her role in Half-Blood Prince & her reaction to Deathly Hallows.

The only scene Natalia has filmed for the movie, isn't actually in the book at all. She was only on set for the part where Death Eaters attack the Burrow at Christmas (where Harry & the Weasleys are present). She said that none of the angst of her character is there - indeed, she and Lupin are just suddenly a couple when they meet there.

In regards to Deathly Hallows, she said she was disappointed to see that they got married, due to her own personal preference towards the institution. So she doesn't want a big wedding scene (which some fans think may happen, given the exclusion of Bill Weasley & Fleur Delacour from Half-Blood Prince). But she did say that she would love to have to ride a broom with a pregnant belly.

I'm sad. I kind of liked T/RL and I just wanted them to have a little bit more screentime. Boo. Sad  I want to see little Teddy in DH part 2, damnit.

Natalia also said they cut the Funeral scene for Dumbledore.

"She also mentioned that they were going to cut Dumbledore’s funeral from the sixth film which really upset me. This was the first part of any Harry Potter book to make me cry and if they had done it well, I’m sure watching the on screen version of it would make me cry again. Very disappointed. (But cool to meet Nat!)"

FUCKERY.
I'd rather see the funeral scene than that newly created attack-on-the-Burrow scene!

What the shit?! How the hell can they cut off the funeral scene? They were able to put in a memorial for Cedric, but they can't fit in Dumbledore's, the greatest wizard alive, funeral? Wow, that really makes me want to give Kloves a swift kick to the face.

I just visited the source (Leaky Couldron) because some commenters on ONTD said that they couldn't find anything on there about the funeral being cut and I can't find either... (Maybe I should have done that earlier, I'm sorry!)

So it could be , hmm. We'll see.

She might have more scenes to film coming up. The scene at the burrow may be the only one she's taken part in so far.

This is one reason why I didn't like the 5th movie. The cut to much stuff out.

I am beginning to despise the Director. D:<

As Draco says: [these movies have] gone to the dogs, wait till my father hears about this. [Unfortunately, my father probably doesn't care... Actually, I know he doesn't care.]

I know that they filmed then cut the scene with James and Lily's fight over Snape in OOtP. To give it a more intelligent sound, the director is a Retardus Maximus

WTF?Huh?

If this is true, I'm boycotting!! Damn the WB and Steve Kloves and David Yates!!! I just can't understand how they thought this would be a good idea.  It's mind-boggling. I really hope it's not true or the WB is going to getting some angry fan mail.

How the hell would Nat know if it's cut yet?! She's not the producer OR the director, plus, Yates had said that Kloves had written and beautiful scene for it already and considering the fact that they haven't even finished filming yet, Nat wouldn't have any idea what was in the final cut yet. That's not how it works. Only Yates would have any idea. This person is full of BS, we have no reason to believe them and you guys are taking their word like it's set in stone.

It's craptastic enough that they had to cut the wedding scene, along with the given visual progressions in the book of Tonks and Lupin's relationship, but goddamn, DUMBLEDORE'S FUNERAL AS WELL??
Good God, this movie's going to be a joke!
It's like, "Oh yeah, by the way, Dumbledore died. Boo hooo. Blah blah blah blah, let's go kill Voldemort." AND "It's not like we've spoken one line to eachother or made even previous mention of one another in the previous films, but wth, we love eachother k? Me and Lupin are a srs couple, nao!!"

This is ridiculous. Next thing you tell me Ginny will be cradling a one-year-old Albus in her arms in the first five minutes of the film! Don't know how that happened, but you've read the books, so we're not going to be bothered telling you on screen how the characters got there!

I know there's a lot of material to wade through and understandably things will have to fall to the cutting room floor, but really? This is shit story-telling. I expect these kind of things from television shows, not from a franchise that's churning out billion of dollars each movie! Dammit, they should have gotten Alfonso back. In fact, any director who's got an ounce of respect for the material J.K. spent nearly six years planning and beautifully executing. Cry

WORD. The movies suck. The first few were decent, but number five reeked so bad, it could kill a skunk. I hate David Yates with a passion.

The girl that met Natalia has posted pictures of the meeting, if anyone is interested.

(BTW, the same girl posted in the comments on The Leaky Couldron about the funeral scene. Yeah, I couldn't find that a few days ago but her comment really exists, at least.)

Also, it is reported that Fleur will not appear in the Deathly Hallows movies...

Oh, I totally agree, rubywednesday. I loved POA, it's my favourite of the whole bunch. Alfonso Cuarón is pretty much amazing.

Egads, Clemence not coming back!? I suppose that would explain excluding the wedding scene altogether. D:

YAY! I'm thrilled that someone else loves Cuarón's (in my opinion) genius approach to direction!  And POA is where I think Daniel looks the most like Harry out of all the films (hair not too long, not TOO short, and messy right at the back.) And Cuarón has expressed interest in returning.. I don't see why Yates has to hog the fifth, sixth, and apparently, to my horror, part 1 and part 2 of the seventh movie as well.

The fifth was pretty much a train wreck (again, my personal opinion.) A lot of the people that I knew who went, who had never read the books and were relying on stories told from the previous films, could not, for the life of them, make sense of that movie. It was choppy as hell, and barely coherent. Heck, you needed a darn flashlight to tell what the hell was going on! The movie looked like it had been shot in a cave. The most loved and popular scenes in the book (that they did decide to put in,) were massacred and had the heart carved right out of them: Sirius' death, Snape's worst memory, Fred and George ditching Hogwarts, they even had Harry ad-lib the most soppy line at the end, arggghh.

I wanted to give Yates the benefit of the doubt. OOTP was the longest book so naturally the movie will feel a little compacted. It's news like this, however, that make me begin to lose faith.  Cry

yeah, the second one is more likely.

agree 100% Angry
i was re-watching all the movies last week, and PoA is definately the best! Ok, so Cuarón cut the bits about the Marauders...but the rest of the movie was fantastic.
And OotP! Why did I like it in the first place! Good god, it's crap!
*grumbles*

and meg, unfaithful bastards definately xD

I think he invested the most in trying to understand the books [IMO only]... I mean, he obviously - unconsciously and without knowledge - gives hints about the later books, which weren't even published yet.

Also, because I'm biased towards him out of all the underused actors who are main/semi-main characters, he didn't cut Draco out as much, actually I think he put most of his scenes in - granted in the snowball scene it was supposed to be mud, and he was supposed to see Harry's head. And Nott wasn't there instead of Goyle.

I really wanted him to film the last book, or... gah, forgot his name, the guy that did Pan's Labyrinth [who happens to be on of Cuaron's good friends], I wish he'd do it, but he's doing The Hobbit, or something from Tolkien.
