I guess according to the Homerton College student paper, Emma is going to attend Homerton College. So she's sticking close to London. She may even be attending this October not next yr. Thought it was inetresting. http://www.homerton.cam.ac.uk/home.html

um where exactly did you get that information from because it would be somewhat weird to have posted information like that on the site in the first place and even if she did get into cambridge unless she's planning on attending both semesters full-time there is no way that she's attending this year what with HP filming etc, this is cambridge we're talking about, she cannot have a personal tutor or something cause that's not how university works.

It's on a few websites. I don't have a scan of the paper but plenty of people seen it. I don't think she'll get much peace at the college. People who go to nearby colleges are talking about hanging out at Homerton or places nearby to hopefully meet her. She may have worked something out so she could attend this yr. She never said she wouldn't, it was always assumed. I think she feels her schooling is as important or perhaps more important than HP. But either way, that's what is being reported by the student paper.

Interesting...well if she got in a big congratulation to her! She could still go to college this year you know, just take classes during the fall semester and take the spring semester off to film DH and come back during the next fall semester that way she not too far behind.

Whoa, she must be superwoman if she's willing to face University and HP at the same time.

Cambridge is the university, Homerton is one of the college in it. Just like in the U.S. each University have many colleges in it. Each college may specialize in a major or a group of majors. My University have four colleges and is building two more.

lol Emma must be so keen. But I guess when you're still at school in the final year and the focus is so intense, more study always seems the logical step.
The thing is, that I'm in university because I need a degree to get a good job. Emma has a job that earns her millions of dollars and has the potential to continue for a quite a while if she puts the effort in while the Harry Potter momentum is running.
lol I'm in the middle of assignments right now and I going insane... the only thing that keeps me going is the reminder that I need my law degree to get the job I want. To me, the idea of doing study (without a job goal) instead of pursuing a multi-million dollar career just seems insane. Hopefully Emma will find a way of fitting this around filming and not compromise her future over it. Studying is a life long thing -- I sometimes think I learn more from my library subscription than I do at uni.
Or maybe it serves as an indicator that Emma is wavering over whether or not to even pursue acting after HP?
Surely it would be better if Emma was to do HP and some other projects to establish herself a little bit and then fit in her study? I'm just saying this because it would be such a shame if she went off to uni and the whole acting world just passed her by. lol You can tell that my examinations have put me in a bad mood over uni. I suppose I see it as a means to an end (ie a career) whereas others see it as a form of enlightenment.

If it's on a few websites, why don't you post some links or something because I can't find anything on the web about Emma being accepted

so is homerton like the program she's in? Is it like the community in which her major will be? I have no idea how schools in england work. I'm going to germany next fall for study abroad, but i don't know how similar germany and england are, and i don't know much about germany right now anyways. Is it like how for my school, i'm part of the school of film and television?

I think there's some terminology confusion going on here! I think that American and British terms are very different. Is the English terminology the same as Australian? In Australia a 'college' is a residential college and is simply a place where you can live on campus while you study. It has nothing to do with education. University is the place where you get your degree.

'Jonestar' being the person who started this entire thread needs to just end this topic by either providing us with a sufficient link to the websites where we can confirm this news or just give pull out the 'it was just a prank' card and end this on going confusion P.S. As for the question about what the term 'college' is referred to as in England, it's basically like this: different subjects are taught in different buildings that are referred to as 'colleges' but they are all part of the university as a whole, so the business related subjects are taught in one college whereas the science orientated subjects are taught in another college, so at the end of the day they are all part of Cambridge university as a whole, just taught in different buildings around the university.

she said in an interview once that she was going to take a year away from her studies after she graduated so that she could travel around the world, sth like that. perhaps, now that there r going to have more two hp films, she's changed her mind?

Yes Homerton is part of Cambridge. I thought the link I provided showed info on the campus, perhaps it didn't work. The newspaper could have assumed that she was attending this fall, but only know she accepted and not defered. But like somebody said she could do a full semester before stopping to film HP so she won't be to far behind. I will post a link to a HP website that also saw the paper article. I won't post the non HP websites that talked about it. I've made that mistake before and some really rude HP fans caused so much problems it ruined everything. But I guess a HP website is fair game, but please don't be rude to the regulars at that site. I know I shouldn't have to say that but when it comes to Emma people go a little bonkers. http://randeforum.proboards78.com/?board=emma&action=display&thread=1184&page=1
