It depends, as it does in the US, however, I have been told that there is less poverty and less of a rich-poor gap here in London, furthermore, England. It is much more liberal and the government intervene much more. But do keep in mind that I am not exactly learnéd about the United States, this is just what I've heard.

There are rich people and poor people in every country no matter where you go. Guest_Mima is pretty much correct about the rich-poor gap but also keep in mind that there is more poverty here in the US because it is way bigger and has a much larger population

obviously theres poverty , and even though i agree will the 2 people above me, london definately has some very rich people , and then there's the rich people (who are quite rich aswell, haha) .

She does, but London is only about two hours away.

Bath is 100 miles from London (I've been to Bath in a car, so I'd know :]) um, it's longer than two hours though, if you're lucky you can get thre in three, but without traffic, (obviously there's alot of traffic as it's London), yup, about two hours.

I'm talking about the distance in miles away not how long it is to get there in a car, but I understand what you're talking about.

yeah u get poor people everywhere all over all Englands fairly rich countrie and we have a very good benifit system so if you are worse off then you get council houses and so on. oh btw LaLa....she IS a movie star....that could be why she looks like one....but i know what you mean!!

im from aus right and i realli wanna go to england! but there currency is like double ours! so say if i went over there with $100 i would only have $50! that realli sucks! if i lived in england, i'd be poor, haha.

hmm...imagine ...here is one pound about 50 czech crowns...I would have to pay 3times more for a flat in england than in Czech Reoublic and I heard, that living in uk is really expensive

therri: it is mainly in the cities that it is really expensive to live. you can get decent houses for not so much but that depends on where you want to live. in and around london is quite expensive at the moment because of inflation but yeah...
