J.K Rowling Shares Emma and Dan’s fate in the last book

In an interview posted on the MTV Movie Blog, J.K Rowling reveals secrets she shared with Emma and Dan about their characters fate in the last book, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows (poor Rupert)
“I think they were always petrified of asking me,” she said, smiling broadly. “I went down to the set and Dan [Radcliffe] and I had a real chat and it was great. And I said to him ‘Dumbledore’s giving me a bit of trouble.’ And he said, ‘But Dumbledore’s dead!’ And then immediately ‘Don’t tell me! Don’t tell me!’” But that didn’t stop Radcliffe from “pretending that he knew the ending of book seven,” Rowling laughed, saying his loose lips got him his just desserts. “He went down the corridor to the other kids, because they were still being schooled at the time, and he said, ‘She’s told me, I know what happens,’” Rowling related. “Of course, then he was besieged and started to panic.” “He got a little taste of what it’s like to be me,” the author cackled. “Serves him right!”
“I told all of them little bits, [but] I told Emma Watson the most,” Rowling said of the actress who plays Hermione Granger, who in the seventh novel finally gets her romantic moment with Ron Weasley. “She nearly fell off the chair laughing when I told her who she had to kiss.” “But if it’s faithful to the story she has to kiss both of them,” Rowling added, indicating Harry as well as Ron. “Which I think is kind of funny.”
Wonder how jealous Tom Ducker will get (if they’re still together then) with Emma “snogging” Dan and Rupert… OOO…
Many thanks to Becky for a new picture of Rupert and Eddie(Angelica Mandy’s friend), and Angelica Mandy Field trip pictures:
And a new picture of Evanna Lynch sticking out her tongue:

and they said that J.K hadn’t told them anything!! Oh well, I’m glad I went on reading it surprised of waht would happen. A few weeks before the book came out this site posted a spoiler that Hermione and Hagrid were going to die and I accidently looked and was so heartbroken becuase I had almost every other book previously, spoiled for me and was hoping to break that streak with the last one. Luckily that didn’t happen so I was pleasantly surprised as I read adn it took SO much unbelivable will power not to peek at the next page becuase things were happening so fast.
I guess its a go on the Harry Hermione kiss then, I was sure tehy would cut it like they do everything else but luckily….. :}
Bull shit. As much as I love Harry Potter, it peeves me that JKR is so into the whole Emma/Dan chemistry on screen.
If they stay faithful to the ‘illusionary’ kiss between Hermione and Harry, I’d be SO FUCKING PISSED OFF.
I mean, they’ve already butchered 80% of Ron’s character and lines and fed it to Hermione. Hell, they butchered Harry & Ginny’s relationship in OOTP and gave more attention to Luna and YET AGAIN gave some of Ginny’s parts to Hermione. If they can’t stay faithful to those parts, then I say they should NOT stay faithful to the whole Harry/Hermione “kiss” either. SHIT.
They better add the H/G kiss in the Deathly Hallows movie or I’m going to have to kill someone. That’s the least they could do to be TRULY FAITHFUL. And also, Snape/Lily memories. OOTP movie’s Snape-memory SUCKED!!!!
JKR is full of shit. I can tell the last 2 books were influenced by Dan and Emma and their whole chemistry in the movies. I love HP but JKR peeves me so much.
How can you say that, SHANIE, when it was H/G and R/Hr? O_o
JK said she told bits to everyone, it’s just that Dan was the one that asked so she bought that up, and she told emma the most, so she bought that up too. And she didn’t tell them their whole fates. And SHANIE I really don’t get what your saying - to stay true to the book they should cut bits from it out of the film ?? what? The kiss between hermione and harry is really defining of ron’s character, to cut it out would be doing him more harm than good.
I know it’s H/G and R/Hr in the end, but I’m just saying the last 2 or 3 books reflected a closer relationship with Harry and Hermione than Ron/Harry or Ron/Hermione or Harry/Ginny in MANY ways. And I think it’s got to do with the fact that JKR is a tease f-ck who likes to f-cuk around with HHr’s minds… maybe because she gets a kick out of Dan and Emma’s chemistry on screen. I’m not saying she’s an HHR shipper, I’m saying she enjoys the ship BECAUSE of the actor and actress who play them.
And about staying faithful, they haven’t stayed faithful to Ginny’s growing relationship with Harry. It should have started in GoF when Ron insisted that Harry goes with Ginny to the ball, remember? Instead, we got HHr scenes prior to the ball in the movie. WTF?
If they can’t stay truthful to the 2 major romantic relationships in the book, then why should the movies stay truthful to the whole HHr kiss just so Dan and Emma can flaunt more of their chemistry and THEN OVERSHADOW Ron/Hermione because of that??
wow i gues dan/emma kiss will be very passionate after all they have been in love for a very long time well emma is in love with dan
Oh please…be serious! They’re friends, they do not love each other.
@SHANIE
WTF??? Did you forget to take your MEDS today???
The Tom Ducker comment is absolutely stupid and unrelated. I’m done with this webshite
I’m pretty hacked that Emma and Dan have lied to everyone that they knew nothing of what was to come to pass with their characters in the last book. They didn’t have to lie they could have said that they know of certain things but can’t discuss them for obvious reason but they outright lied.
And to Shanie, you got your ending what more do you want? I’m glad that Dan and Emma have such amazing chemistry on screen because while you may have the book ending the movies belong to Dan and Emma.
At first I was thinking, “What the hell… what kiss between Harry and Hermione?” But I agree with “Emmahalloway” because the kiss between evil!Hermione and Harry is really there to show what Ron is thinking and fearing inside of him, not what’s true to real life. I don’t think that JKR is THAT influenced by the movies because she herself keeps insisting that she’s always seen the Harry she’s alway’s had in her head, although she occasionally thinks of them when casting is brought up (like she thinks of Rupert at the Lavender Brown casting).
I’ve always known this.. but Deathly Hallows really needs to be one hell of a long movie. And they better keep Oppungo in HBP!! And All the R/Hr moments that they always miss out on in the previous movies..
Okay, that’s my rant.
I couldn’t disagree more with you Shanie. Like some have said, if you want them to remain faithful to the books then you should be VERY pleased if they include the H/HR kiss because they DID kiss. You can’t want them to cut scenes out just to make amends for wrongs that YOU think they committed in previous movies.
BTW, to be perfectly honest, the only thing I was disappointed with in how the series turned out, besides the epilogue (what was she thinking?), was how the G/H relationship developed. Harry completely ignores the girl for 5 full books, and what he just wakes up one day and he’s head over heels in love with her? Just doesn’t make sense, she should have made their relationship more gradual, and sensible like R/HR’s.
P.S. I don’t think we can actually be mad that Emma and Dan “lied” about not knowing too much about DH, because they really didn’t. All they knew were bits and pieces. Emma might have known that she would be kissing Dan, could you imagine if she had leaked that out? People would be running around going “I told you so, I told you so, Harry and Hermione do get together etc…” Besides if they did let on that they did know some of the plot, they’d be constantly hounded about it during EVERY television appearance/interview they made until the book was actually released.
@SHANIE, in the books, Harry never showed ANY interest in Ginny until HBP, so the films were never going to get into that beforehand. I don’t know what version of the books you’ve been reading if you think otherwise, but Jo Rowling can write her own books however SHE pleases. I know it pains some **fangirls** to know that Emma may get to kiss both Dan and Rupert and it probably pisses them off that Jo decided to tell Emma more than anyone else, but seriously, GET TF OVER IT! Jo advises on the films and she may well want whoever is directing DH to keep the locket scene in because it’s important in explaining the relationship between the trio.
As for those WHINGING that Dan and Emma ‘lied’, they had to say the didn’t know because Jo probably insisted on it. If they’d revealed that they knew some details, they’d have been badgered to tell non-stop.
And again, @ SHANIE, please remember that the HArry Potter series was written by JK Rowling, ergo she had 100% creative licence on what goes into the books, not any of us!
Harry didn’t like Ginny in book #4. Just because Ron wanted Harry to go to the ball with Ginny doesn’t mean he wanted to. That entire book was Harry obessing over Cho Chang. THere was no foreshadowing with Ginny becuase believe it or not Harry was much more pre-occupied with someone else. In book 5 Ginny got comfortable with Harry because she got over that school girl crush and found herself a boyfriend - Harry was still fawning over Cho Chang. They ARE staying faithful to the books because Harry doesn’t even notice Ginny like that until they reach book 6. That’s why all the Ginny haters were complaining about how that relationship came out of nowhere. Because it wasn’t acknoledged until then. And if you watched the 5th movie they sort of do foreshadow the Harry/Ginny thing when all the DA members are leaving and you see Bonnie Wright as Ginny looking back at Cho and Harry with a kind of sad look on her face. That didn’t happen in the book but they added it to the movie.
There are a lot of Harry and Hermione moments because Harry and Hermione are best friends and again if you had read the books, in book #4, Hermione was basically the only person he had due to the fact taht Ron was mad at him at the time. He spent the majority of the first part of the book with her because of Ron’s jealousy. I really agree with Bess, maybe you need to check the title of the book you’re reading becuase it really doesn’t sound like Harry Potter.
i think it is hermy and ron and why did you make this comment about ducks and em THEY ARENT TOGETHER SO STOP POSTING THINGS ABOUT HIM EM SAYS IN 100000000 INTERVIEWS SHE CANNOT HAVE BF AND EM DOESNT LIE SHE IS HONEST GOOD PRIM AND PROPER GIRL AN DSHE WOULD NEVER DO ANYTHING WRONG SO STOP TALKING ABOUT HER “BF” CAUSE SHE DOESNT HAVE ONE SHE DOESNT SMOKE DRINK OR PARTY THE ONLY THINK SHE DOES IS GOING TO SCHOOL AN DFILMING SHE IS ESCATLY LIKE HERMY SO STOP TRYING TO GET BAD THINGS ABOUT HER CAUSE YOU WOULD NEVER SUCCESS
The 16-year-old actress, who plays Hermione Granger in the hit film series, says the role leaves her little time for romance.
Emma, currently filming Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, said: “People say to me, ‘Oh it must be so easy for you — dating and boys. They must be lining up for you’.
“It’s really not easy. It’s really not. I suppose guys are either kind of intimidated by me and have their defences up, or they like to take the p*** out of me.
“It’s a minefield, to be honest. It’s stressful. I’ll just have to wait. Maybe someone will find me.”
Emma told a US mag she was surrounded by “cute” older guys among film crew workers.
But she added: “That’s my problem. I think, ‘Yeah, he’s good looking’ — but he’s like, 25! So that’s not happening.”
For me, I think I will gonna look forward for Harry/hermione kiss., hope it will in the movie,..
bcuz, its a spice for the movie that people who dont read the books will gonna confused if harry would end up w/ hermione or ginny..
and I like it if it happen, bcuz they have a great chemistry.., and i think it is more good than harry/cho kiss, that dont have any chemistry..
but its just my opinion…
i’m so into DREW relationship..!!
Gosh,,..Thnx….!!!!!
