David Thewlis talks about Dumbledore’s Gayness

In an recent interview, David Thewlis ( Lupin) gives his opinion on J.K Rowling’s reveal of Dumbledore’s gayness, and also talks about how he and the director of Prisoner of Azkaban thought Remus Lupin was gay, too:
The funny thing when Alfonso Cuarón directed The Prisoner of Azkaban, the first film that I appear in, he had the idea that Lupin was gay and he described my character like a ‘gay junkie’ . And of course Lupin turns out not to be gay because he marries Tonks and has children.
On Emma Watson’s Official Website, there has been announcement that Warner Bros will be holding a press about the shittiest Harry Potter movie of all time followed by Goblet of Fire, Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, on November 3rd.
We have 2x new pictures of Bonnie Wright at Frieze Art Fair (Thanks to Kayla):

“The shittiest Harry Potter movie of all time..”
Have you read the book? It might not be /the/ best movie, but it’s still pretty amazing for being the longest book.
Maybe you should think about what you’re typing before you post them.
That’s asking too much for these people, Skeptical. Do you really think anyone of any artistic integrity (or an understanding thereof) would be running a site like this?
I’d like to ask a question. If Harry Potter 5 is such a “shittiest” movie and Emma Watson, a sl*t with no fashion sense at all and no brains, WHY are you running this website? Spending your time looking after pictures of her??? If you hate her so much, why don’t you just GET A LIFE?
And don’t answer with your “why are you going on this website if you don’t like it”, blah blah blah. I’m not the one saying all those stupid things about Emma Watson and OOTP.
Hi… i just have to say that I think you guys shud be a hell of a lot nicer to the HP franchise and Emma and all…you’re constantly rude about them and we are all apparnetly kind of SICK of it.. get a grip, really! The site is great but please stop the abusing of them, god…they don’t deserve it! Seems like everyone is getting pretty annoyed with you guys now so u might as well stop the shitting.
hahaha.
Yeah, that last movie was shitacular!
I just like looking at Radcliffe’s ass.
Mmm.. I’m just wondering if the official site link is intensively linking back to this site.
I always though Lupin was gay too, anyway… ^^
I really cannot understand why you are wasting obviously hours of putting well researched news and pictures, into an amazing site, when you seem to hate Harry Potter films, think the books are “shit” and you constantly slag off the characters. This is a fan based website, and really should be run by fans instead of rude people like you. I think a lot of us would agree that you should stop wasting your life and research something you give a shit about. Sorry if it sounds repetitive, but its obvious by all the comments, that you are highly offending many of us who are true fans, and would be truly proud of running a great site like this without the cenile, stupid little comments.
The movies are shit, but the books are awesome. I do not recall ever saying that the books are shit, so please get your facts straight.
@me
too bad (:
I think that the movies are shit, but i love the books.
(sorry, my english is so bad)
WHO’S THE GIRL WITH BONNIE AT FRIEZE ART FAIR??
Alfonso Cuaron needs to get a grip and stop with his weird input. Does he even read the books? POA was the best movie out of the 5 but he should have explained who Padfoot, Prongs and Co. were. In OOTP Harry writes a letter starting with ’Dear Padfoot’ but how wil non-readers know who this ’Padfoot’ is? (If they explained this in Goblet of Feces, then that would explain why I never noticed - if not, they should have added it in there)
The books ARE 10,000 times better than the movies, though I do enjoy the films as seperate entities (umm, not including GOF obviously)
wow, people like to bash. and the fifth movie was not shitty, nor any of the movies, end of discussion. I agree with xoxohugsandkisses about enjoying the movies and books separately, but I think they’re all superb in their own ways, and none of them are shitty. I mean, why would they be so top-grossing? and don’t say that everybody’s an idiot and don’t know what kind of ’shit’ they’re paying for. we all know what we’re paying for, perfectly.
Bonnie Wright guest starred on Disney’s The Replacements. Though it is only a voiceover you can find the episode here:

Are you serious? At one time the “Cheeky Girls” had the #1 song in the world. The Spice Girls are currently planning a reunion tour.
Titanic, the highest grossing movie in history, has a lower rating on imdb than ANY HP movie. And yet it made more money than any single HP movie.
We’re at the point that the more popular something is, the more likely it’s a load of crap.
Dancing With the (fucking) Stars is the #1 show in America for crying out loud!!
The Harry Potter movies are hugely popular. Which means they are a load of crap. A 3 hr+ movie that explores the relationships of the three main characters, includes the subplots and the details that make the books so appealing, will never sell. You gotta cut, cut, cut to the bare bones, leave out huge chunks of the story and give the brain dead masses a two hour movie that their ADD brains can handle. And they love it, and post how it’s just the BESTEST HARRY POTTER MOVIE EVER!!!!!!!!
When in fact, without the huge fan base of the books, these movies would’ve died a long time ago.
Sorry, Janet, but these are not classic movies. They aren’t even good movies. They are a cash cow for Warner Brothers, and that’s it.
They appeal to the huge base of Harry Potter fans that are willing to accept any crap Warner Brothers will throw at them. And they love it. And sadly enough, they will defend it. As apparently you will too.
…
and don’t say that everybody’s an idiot and don’t know what kind of ’shit’ they’re paying for. we all know what we’re paying for, perfectly.
…
That makes me sad. You admit you’re paying for “shit” and yet, you like it.
Get over yourself, LOL AT U ALL. Seriously. You just seem ridiculous. Yes, yes, I know people who like the movies (fair people who can judge things on their own, not by comparing them to the books on which they are based) are big poopoo-heads for having the gall to appreciate something that is not exactly like the books or exactly the way you want it, but. . . .

You are comparing them to the books as well. You just don’t realize it.
Imagine, if you can, that the books didn’t exist and all you have to go on is the movies. 5 movies, 4 different directors, 4 different ideas about how the story should be told, no continuation from one film to the next, each film is meant to stand on its own merits without regard for the films that came before it or will come after it.
And no one knows what the story is because it changes with every film.
Like it or not, the thread that holds these films together is the books. The films are not a separate entity, they are entirely dependent on the books.
As I said before, without the fanbase of the books, these films would’ve died a long time ago.
You tell me to get over myself, but it really does make me sad to see people willingly accept the crap that gets thrown at them. And then to see them defend it, I just wanna give up.
These movies could’ve been so much better.
What is there to debate about? The 5th movie was shit. End of story. However I loved the first three.
And GOF was ok but should have been better. And I have to agree with LOL AT YOU ALL when she says that if it weren’t for the books, the Harry Potter movies would have died out a long time ago.
Books are great, movies are OK I guess,, but if wasn’t for the grown up Emma Watson in the last two they would not have been worth watching.
She is the breath of fresh air in these silly movies.
Plus these days she looks a million bucks as well,I just wish they could make her character a bit more stand outish.
I know they a kid orintated movies but they could doll her up a bit because she is really a beautiful young woman now, with brains to boot.
I can’t wait to see what she does when she finally works out what she wants to do and gets away from these Kids movies.
I think with her smile she should try her hand at comedy. I was watching some old crap on the Telly the other night and came to the conclusion that if they ever remake “Are you being served” she would be the perfect as Miss Brahms”,She is a dead ringer for that bird,,only she is a smidge better looking than the original actress.
Go Emma

“You are comparing them to the books as well. You just don’t realize it.”
Oh, my. I guess you’re right! You know me and all!
No, I judge them on a movie by movie basis. It’s not that hard. Since they are made to stand on their own as much as to loosely tie the overarching story together, as well as having mostly distinct styles, it is VERY easy to judge them on their own. They are far from perfect, but considering the artistry going into them (especially PoA and OotP), they are far from awful. Objectively speaking, they are not trash and they are not the height of perfection.
You’re proving one of my assumptions about book purists — namely, that they can’t seem to extricate themselves from their own narrow views. The books are the books, and I love them, but the movies are something else.
“Imagine, if you can, that the books didn’t exist and all you have to go on is the movies. 5 movies, 4 different directors, 4 different ideas about how the story should be told, no continuation from one film to the next, each film is meant to stand on its own merits without regard for the films that came before it or will come after it.”
That’s hyperbole. There are distinct styles, but the films are not completely unrelated. They tell their own stories, as they’re supposed to, and since each story has similar themes, the overarching meaning, though clouded, is still very present.
“And no one knows what the story is because it changes with every film.”
Yeah, I would expect that. -_-
“Like it or not, the thread that holds these films together is the books. The films are not a separate entity, they are entirely dependent on the books.”
Again, you instill within me a greater confidence in my assumptions.
“As I said before, without the fanbase of the books, these films would’ve died a long time ago.”
That’s baseless conjecture.
“You tell me to get over myself, but it really does make me sad to see people willingly accept the crap that gets thrown at them. And then to see them defend it, I just wanna give up.”
Again, you improve confidence in my assumptions. I do indeed want to give up.
“These movies could’ve been so much better.”
Finally, something we can agree on.
My dearest LOL AT U ALL:
I assume that you have watched the “shit” aka Harry Potter movies. Therefore you have paid for the movies and are (even if you download them illegally) cashing into Warner Bro’s money-making scheme. You spent valuable time watching what you deem as “shit” and as the old proverbial saying goes “time is money.” So how can you diss the movies if you have watched all of them? (therefore playing right into those dirty bastards’ hands)
DO NOT give me crap about Harry Potter not breaking any records! Sure, they may not be earth-shattering like Titanic, but you are making unfair comparisons. Titanic was a one-time, highly rewatchable sort of movie. I mean, my friend’s DAD watched it 5 times in theatres, which is saying something.
I know Harry Potter is not a classic! It does not mean I don’t enjoy them for entertainment anyways. I never ever said it was a classic, it is pure fun. I don’t watch them when I feel serious or whatnot.
I defend them because they provide a visual world to me. I like the actors. I like the franchise. I like the “crappy” movies. Maybe it’s bad for me, like smoking or alcohol. Maybe it’s detrimental to my health. But I sit down with my friends and make fun of the stupid lines in the movie, mimicking their British accents (in Katie’s case, Scottish accent) and have a riot about them. It’s FUN! I do not say they can garner Oscar winning performances. But if you waste your time watching the movies and don’t get anything out of them, then you shouldn’t watch them at all and pursue some classic literature. May I suggest Paradise Lost? That’s some hard-core stuff. And it’s a classic, so it doesn’t mean I’m some brainless zombie that solely enjoys Harry Potter. I have other interests, and for you to make it such a personal attack on a fan (namely me), I pity you. Because you could do so much better bashing the president than a Harry Potter fan enjoying her shit-movies.
Get a life. I need to get a life too since I spent some valuable time typing all this up. I admit it! I’m a Harry Potter whore! why else would I be on this site!
All I have to say is woah. Some people have some SERIOUS oppinions about these movies/books and they are ready to kill you about it. lol
I don’t really like the fact that they changed directors. POA was my fave but Alfonso creeped me out…and like someone said, they didn’t tell enough of the story. If there were no books, no one would know what was going on.
Please do not chop my head off.
*chops Laura’s head off*
Janet: It’s not about what kind of literature you read; purists rag on films that aren’t exactly like the book. They complain about film adaptations while acting as if they are not purists, even though every one of their complaints go back to the films being different from the books. I don’t really care if people hate the films or like them for whatever reasons; I just hate when they present bullshit excuses as fact.

If there where no books at all, then all of the HP movies would still be just ordinary movies. Definitely no Oscar nominations amongst any of them.
But at least having Emma in there makes them watchable. At least she is believable in her role.
Emma needs to run away from these predictable childrens movies now and become the great actor that she is hiding inside herself.
The HP series where great to get her well known and to give her a start & the basic acting skills but she has out grown this type of movie now.
Go Emma
AngryAnt: I agree with your point of view entirely.
I liked the book and the movies. Obviously the books tell more thats why they are better. To all the HP bashers,if you do not like the movies or books get the fuck out of this site. Why would you be in here just so people can read your bullshit. Go somewhere else and voice your opinion there cause in hre we don’t give a shit as to what you have to say. PEACE
