MTV Movie Awards
As is made abundantly clear in This Film Is Not Yet Rated, the US movie industry is all about getting teenage bums on seats. Adults can go to hell, sorry, heck. So in many ways the MTV Movie Awards are far more important than the stuffy old Oscars with their boring old foreign-film category and awards for cinematography and screenplays, and other boring stuff that nobody cares about.
Among this year’s award nominees are Daniel Radcliffe and Katie Leung ( Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix) for best kiss, Alien and Predator ( Aliens vs Predator: Requiem) for best fight and Angelina Jolie ( Beowulf) for best villain.
Presenters keen to stay hip with the young crowd include Steve Carell, Jack Black, Lindsay Lohan, Robert Downey jnr and Rumer Willis.
