   July 5th, 2008 at 5:24 am I’m really just not that excited about this movie. The last Harry Potter movie sucked, the one before that was bad. I just feel the whole franchise is going downhill. I think it’s the director and that bad acting by the younger cast.    July 5th, 2008 at 5:32 am I think the harry potter films are great, and i love them. However, they never are going to live up to the books. Films like this never do. Look at the Golden Compass, the book is so much better than that film. The reason The Golden Compass wasn’t a very good translation from book to film is because they changed things, what with the controversy with the Catholic church, etc. With Harry Potter, the reasons why the films don’t live up to the book, is because money. The books have gotten progressively longer each “year”, something WB wasn’t prepared for. So with each HP film, more stuff is being cut out, because the longer the film, lesser money. That’s why with a film split in two = more money. Instead of squeezing everything into one, or pushing 3 hours à la Lord of the Rings. [Reply]

Plus, Rupert looks adorable in the pictures with the chocolates and Quidditch (even though the helmet thingy kills that one pic).     July 7th, 2008 at 12:07 pm The only thing I hate about those quidditch outfits is that hat that Ron has to wear. It’s one of those 1940’s football leatherhead hats. It’s horrible. What protection could that possibly offer? Other than that, sexy sexy sexy! I don’t know why a lot of peole hate the HP movies. I personally love them, and I think OotP was the best(although loads of people on here thought it was the worst). I love David Yates’ style of directing. This movie’s going to be really good.     July 13th, 2008 at 1:31 pm I don’t get Hermione’s hair! It is meant to be brown and bushy not blonde with perfect curls! Obviously her hair was OTT in COS but they don’t need to change it so much. I think they should stay as true to the books as possible and Hermione’s hair is a major physical characteristic. [Reply]

    July 14th, 2008 at 3:06 pm It always happens to me (at least since GoF) when the first pictures start coming out; how to cope with the substantial differences (not the small details) between the books and the movies? My first impressions: 1. Tom and Evanna look great as Draco and Luna. 2. Why do the movie people insist in making Ron (Ruppert) look like a fool all the time? 3. Why so the Bunsen burners have hoses at Hogwarts? That looks too Muggle like. 4. One more picture of Emma and Dan. I agree; they look great together, but the emphasis in this book is on the Harry/Ginny relationship. They can do away with it, alright, but that would be against the spirit of the book. By the way, their kiss is supposed to be a pasionate kiss in front of the whole Griffindor house, not just a private brush. A few days ago I took out the OotP DVD, only to realise in a few minutes that it didn’t really interest me anymore. I find the only movies I really like are the first three. Never mind, I’m sure they’ll still make loads of money anyway. [Reply]
