Warner Bros Official Statement

The douche, Alan Horn, of Warner Bros has issued an Official Statement to disappointed fans.
As you will no doubt have heard already, Warner Brothers has delayed the release of Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince from this November to next July (2009). Alan Horn - the President Chief Operator Officer of Warner Brothers - has issued the following statement to disappointed fans.
Many of you have written to me to express your disappointment in our moving “Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince” to Summer 2009. Please be assured that we share your love for Harry Potter and would certainly never do anything to hurt any of the films. Over the past 10 years, we have nurtured and protected each film, and the integrity of the books upon which they are based, to the best of our ability. The decision to move “Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince” was not taken lightly, and was never intended to upset our Harry Potter fans.
We know you have built this series into what it is, and we thank you for your ongoing enthusiasm and support. If I may offer a silver lining: there would have been a two-year gap between “Half-Blood Prince” and the much-anticipated first part of “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows,” which opens in November 2010. So although we have to wait a little longer for “Half-Blood Prince,” the wait from that film until “Deathly Hallows” will be less than 18 months. I am sorry to have disappointed you now, but if you hold on a little longer, I believe it will be worth the wait.

rubbish!! WB SUCKS!!!
Oh, piss off, Alan.
“Over the past 10 years, we have nurtured and protected each film, and the integrity of the books upon which they are based, to the best of our ability”
BULLSHIT!
Momo reply on August 22nd, 2008:
Read the last part of that again, will ya.
Anonymous reply on August 22nd, 2008:
what do you mean?
WB is a piece of crap
that has DONE NOTHING to cheer me up. i wanna see the damn film in november!
FOOLS!
“Over the past 10 years, we have nurtured and protected each film, and the integrity of the books upon which they are based, to the best of our ability”
I think what he meant was this:
“Over the past 10 years, we have nurtured and generated cash from each film, and the books upon which they are based, to the best of our ability”
Well at least no other movie will give The Dark Knight a run for its money this year
If they don’t push the other movie to summer 2011 too.
They say it’s for the money. Why don’t release the 1st part of DH earlier then?
Gaaaah, it’s so annoying.
BULLSHIT
Should they really think this would do the trick?! WELL THE ANSWER IS NO! this is bullshit
Piss off! ~_~
BULLSHIT!!!!!!!
We waited onearly two years for some of the other movies. I wish they would stop coming up with lameass excuses and stop denying that they’re all assholes.
I can’t believe he actually thinks we’re that stupid.
ALL THEY CARE ABOUT IS THE MONEY! HOW SAD
please do yourself a favor, SHUT UP WITH YOUR LAME EXCUSES, I DON’T CARE ANYMORE, ALL I CARE IS YOU ALREDY MADE THE DECISION TO CHANGE THE DATE, that is all I can think about right now, I don’t care if it’s worth the wait. I still wont go see it the openning weekend. ONE MORE THING, FUCK YOU.
i’ve gotten over it but its really sad to think when november 21 comes and we don’t get harry potter and you think of what could’ve been.
The one on the left in the picture is the real alan right?
O_o I have no comment
BOYCOTT HARRY POTTER!!!
I genuinely think we should start a giant petition of people saying they will not go to see hp6 if it is pushed back until next summer. It has not benefits for anyone other than warner bros because they think they’ll make more money.
come on lets scare the b**tard
Courtney reply on August 21st, 2008:
no one’s boycotting HP. you’re gonna watch the movie just like the rest of us. petitions will do nothing.
FUCKWB reply on August 22nd, 2008:
I AM BOYCOTTING THE MOVIE!! AT LEAST I’M NOT GONNA SEE THE MOVIE THE OPENNING WEEKEND, SOMEONE NEEDS TO TEACH THEM A LESSON, AND I WONT TAKE MY FAMILY AND FRIEND TO SEE IT.
I HATE U WB! YOU SUCK! YOU PUSHED IT ALL THE WAY TO NEXT SUMMER?! yOU FREAKIN IDIOTS!
Whatever, dickhead!!! And instead of boycotting HBP, I suggest we boycott everything WB releases until HBP comes out (especially Twilight). That would send a powerful message, and show them that they really pissed off their biggest and most loyal fan-base. I for one am not spending a penny on WB products until HBP is released next year. Morons!!!
hey reply on August 21st, 2008:
Twilight isn’t a warner brothers film.
Summit is the one releasing it.
Krum reply on August 22nd, 2008:
I think Summit is a division of WB…they actually moved the premiere of Twilight up to November 21 which was supposed to be the release date for HBP. WB didn’t want HP and Twilight competing for dollars, that’s the real reason they moved HP to next July.
teddypicker reply on August 23rd, 2008:
Summit Entertainment is not a division of WB. It’s the producers’ own decision to move Twilight. They said they’re trying to keep the momentum going for Twilight. That’s basically it. I highly doubt that WB has antyhing to do with it. They just want to earn more money so they moved it to next summer. And come on HP and Twilight competing for dollars? Get real. That’s the battle of the fandoms not WB vs. Summit.
Warner Brothers sucks! Alan Horn is interested in only one thing–making more money. He doesn’t give a damn about the fans. I know it won’t do any good, but it will make me feel better–I’m boycotting all Warner Brothers films.
That picture just made my day! lol
He’s the KING OF DOUCHES!!!
mmmm the one on the left is sexy
yes, alan horn is a douche but i think it’s time for us to get over this and move on to better things like the hp alliance. let’s focus on that one why don’t we?
ht tp : // ww w.thehpalliance .o rg/
BOYCOTT WARNER BROSS!!!!! UNTILL NEXT JULY…. there’s no way I’m boycotting HARRY POTTER…. but I’l BOYCOTT everything else!
FUCKWB reply on August 22nd, 2008:
YEAH!! I SUPPORT YOU!! LET’S DO IT PEOPLE, YOU CAN WATCH THE MOVIE ON THE NET OR BUY THE PIRATE VERSION, IT IS THE SAME THING.
don’t you think that peter jackson would be a better director? i mean he is a better choice for harry potter movies.
pez reply on August 22nd, 2008:
i’m not a big fan of david yates’ work. i liked PoA and GoF so im guessing their directors do a better job (alfonso cuaron, mike newell). yeah peter jackson would be really great for the potter movies. i think he’d do the books justice.
get over it people.
if people really are upset, then you guys should boycott it by NOT seeing it when it comes out.
Amanda...* reply on August 24th, 2008:
uhh why we’re not going to seeing it?
just beacuse you sya it…
fuck you
ya whatever..
Did he really think such a stupid statement would apiece the fans??
Is he really THAT stupid??
nikki reply on October 22nd, 2008:
yeah he really is that stupid
You know you deserved it!
fuck you horn!
JUSTICE!
Just not seeing it on opening weekend seems like a fair idea to me. I will still see it but I’m not giving WB the satisfaction of breaking any records.
dear warner bros, I’ve always been satisfied by all your movies but now I’m very very disappointed by your decision to postpone Harry Potter and the half blood prince. I don’t think there is any difference to publish the movie now or in july 2009 because I’m sure it will be successfull anyway. I love harry potter and I really hope you to change idea again and publish the movie in November 2008..oh and don’t let Alan Horn writes his apologies..it’s too late to apologize!!!..W HARRY POTTER!!!
dear WB…shut the hell up!!!
you’re doing it only for the money e not for fans!!
you suck! and never try again to public such shamefull excuses!!
let’s boycott WB!!!!
la capra reply on September 7th, 2008:
u’re right tunz!..I didn’t want to be so rude but that you are right..they’re doing this for money..I love you tunz!
stupid warner brothers oh yeah and they suck
stupid horn only only want to make money
Even when the HP films are not as good as the books they have been good to watch. However after watching 5 films and reading 7 books I expected a well planned timed release of film number 6. The statement of Mr. Horn does not clearly explain why this last film has been delayed. As a customer when I have high expectations of a product or service and the company who provided fail to meet that expectation I turn my business to some other provider who can meet them.
No HP 6 = No money from my pocket to WB
