HBP Movie Spoiler news concerning Harry/Ginny
Regarding the scene in the Room of Requirements where Harry & Ginny are about to kiss. EEK!
Remember that guy that posted some new bits of the HBP script? If you haven’t read it yet, find it here with the scene with the Trio at Hogsmeade. Well, he posted another new callsheet to prove he’s really legit.
So he posted some more information about that scene and more:
Okay I’ll answer only a few questions, but after I’ve answered these I won’t be posting anymore until I post the next script scene.
The real Unbreakable Vow scene is really good. A lot like the book. Wormtail even appears briefly at the beginning. When we first see Snape he’s reading a newspaper about the bridge collapse and Harry now being The Chosen One.
I haven’t seen Fawkes mentioned. I don’t have the scene but I have callsheets.
The cave and tower scenes will give you chills - it did when I read it.
Ginny takes Harry to the RoR to hide the book. She kisses him in there, it’s their first kiss. The relationship is done a bit differently compared to the book. There’s a lot of build up since there wasn’t much Ginny in the other movies. In fact I’d say there’s more H/G in the movie. There’s a lot of Ginny. She’s very canon like and you can see that especially from her first scene.
I’m deciding between two scenes for the next one to post. The memory from the trailer and the joke shop. But it will be one of those two.

Lots of Ginny pretty much is necessary since they’ve virtually shafted her character the last five movies. They’re going to be building her up from scratch in HBP.

Well, I guess the fact that there’s more HG in the movie was kind of a no brainer, in the book Jo can just mention it (which she did) without us having to see it, but they can’t do that in the movie. Well, at least we’ll finally get to see what Bonnie can really do. They really gypped her in the last few films. But it sounds like Ginny’s role in HBP is probably going to be the size of Luna’s in OotP. So it sounds good, not too much, not too little.

Oh, I hope it’s a bit more than what Luna had in OOTP - I loved her scenes, but I could have really done with more, even though what she had was quite substantial. She’s such a rich and fun character, so I guess you can never really do her justice - but it was supposed to be her introduction movie (along with also being Ginny’s coming-out-of-her-shell movie). I guess the thickness of the book was working against quite a few elements in the book.
Luckily, we shouldn’t have the same problem this time.
Interestingly, though I’m a huge H/G shipper, the scenes I’m most looking forward to are the cave scenes, the flashbacks to Lil’ Tom (the kid was *creepy*!) and the Slughorn scene after Aragog’s funeral, when Harry goes all manipulative on him.

if there is a lot of ginny in this movie then it will obviously be a bigger part than what luna had in ootp. duh! luna showed up more towards the end in ootp and it sounds like ginny will be in the beginning, middle and end of the movie. don’t mess it up.

I just don’t get it. It’s not like Ginny just saw Smith and hexed him. He would not leave her alone. If people can complain about that what about when Hermione attacked Ron with her birds, and I know she was upset about what he did, but she did not have to resort to hexing him. The thing with people saying that she is mean to Ron, yet Fred and George are mean to him more then Ginny, and they insult him all the time and say mean things to him, but people don’t complain about them being to mean to Ron. Hermione did kiss Victor so probably did make out with him. McLaggen was kissing Hermione under the mistletoe at slughorns party. So she did kiss both these guys. It sounded like McLaggen was making out with her. Where this that J.K. apparently wrote in the book that is says that Ginny sleeps around? I want to see it. People assume that since Ginny is pretty and smart and all the boys like that must mean she a slut. Maybe that happened in your high school or whatever, but Ginny does not sleep around. Stop assuming things about Ginny that aren’t even in the books.

Entertainment weekly said the movie is back to Ron, Harry and Hermione. So I would take that over anybody who is obviously seeking attention. Could be fake too. There was another call sheet out earlier by somebody else.
I dont think Ginny will be in it anymore than Luna was in OOtp. I think ron will have a more sizable role. Looking foreward to the Ron/lav/hermmione scenes, even Dan said they were funny.

Actually Ginny’s role in the movie isn’t going to be as big as you think (hope) — she’s still going to be a background character and her only role in the movie will be a few brief romantic scenes and that’s it. She did nothing of significance in the book and so it will be in the movie.

My prayers have been answered because more Harry/Ginny in the movie is a dream come true!
Okay, what do we know?
H/G share a hug at the beginning of the movie, which is supposed to be a ~charged moment~, according to Dan - we saw the picture and they looked SO PERFECT.
We know Ginny’s going to play quidditch and she was sitting next to Harry in the Great Hall in one of the promos wearing quidditch gear.
She helps Harry hide the potions book in the ROR. They kiss in there!
She walks into the Slug Club late and Harry will probably be gobsmacked by how pretty she is in her dress. There was a promo of her walking in.
She’s in the Three Broom Sticks’s with Dean and Harry watches them until Slughorn interrupts him.
The SHOELACE SCENE - wherein they have a ~charged moment and almost kiss~.
The Burrow battle in the reeds, during which she and Harry help each other.
That’s all I can think of, but it’s a lot. And there’s probably more we don’t know about! YAAAAAAAAAAAY! I’m so flippen excited.
This definitely makes up for the fact they shafted her in the previous movies.

No. I love Ginny’s role in the books. She wasn’t in 1, 3, & 4 much but she had a decent enough role in 2, 5, 6 & 7.
The movies have really not developed her character even a little. Ootp was a huge book for Ginny and the movie butchered her so I’m hoping the HBP movie will make up for it.

I guess all those scenes like “Lucky you” where she brings Harry down a peg from his sulky/pissy mood, comforting Harry in the library, replacing him as Seeker on the Quidditch team, going with him on the train so he wouldn’t have to ride alone, introducing Luna, coming up with the name for the DA - all that didn’t happen! It must have been some other redheaded female character related to the Weasleys. And here I thought that was Ginny - tsk! Thank you SO much for pointing out it wasn’t her and that JKR barely mentioned her - you’re so SMART, and I bow to your superior reading comprehension! [/sarcasm]
BTW, I could think of several scenes in COS and GOF that were giving us quite a good view of Ginny’s character and never made it to the movie, but if you choose to willfully ignore the character anyway, why bother?

That’s not true. JKR developed Ginny throughout OotP. It was her who brought the Ravenclaws into Dumbledore’s Army, and it was her who suggested the name. It was also her who won the Qidditch cup for Griffindor, and don’t you ever forget that it was her who scorned Harry for not turning to her when he thought he was possessed by Voldemort. There was none of that in the terrible fan-flick they called OotP.
