“I wish I could dress like this every day of my life,” she said.She tells InStyle magazine of the highs and lows of fame.
“Recently a woman took my arm, looked at me very seriously and said, ‘You’re quite pretty in real life.’ I didn’t quite know how to take it.”
Watson, who has earned an estimated £10 million from the five Potter films, says she shuns stylists for red-carpet events.
“Getting someone else to choose things takes the fun out of it,” she said.
When not working she splits her time between her mother’s house in Oxford, and her father’s in London.
She also has a busy social life.
“For the last three weekends I’ve been at an 18th birthday party,” she said.
Watson, who is currently juggling A-levels and driving lessons, will appear on BBC1 during the Christmas season in a new TV film, Ballet Shoes.

Forbes has come out with their annual “20 Richest Stars Under 25″ and Emma, Daniella, and Rupert were all in it. Emma and Rupert got a raise in OOTP making $4 million this time around, and Daniella made $14 million.

maybe that’s why some people felt she’s stuck up, over confident or something for saying things she shouldn’t say especially thru praising herself.
I hope some of you are a long way from doing jury service with how you can infer something totally different from what was actually said.

She’s not praising herself, she’s laughing at the irony of it. Maybe some of you need to watch lots of British comedies to get a sense of where that comes from. Dan does it all the time and people have mistook it for arrogance too.

My Dad was born and raised in London. It still seems arrogant to me. If she had said ‘prettier’ then it would sound like the woman was comparing Emma to her alter ego on screen. It’s just sounds like pretty in general.
So because your dad was born and raised in London, YOU automatically know what colloquialisms are used and how irony plays itself out? Either ‘ave a word wi’ yourself or ‘ave it on your toes, sunshine. She said “I didn’t quite know how to take it” - that’s the part that’s refering to the proverbial ‘doubled-edged sword’ of what the woman said to her. FFS, why does sardonic humour have to be explained to so many people? The Irish, the Aussies and Kiwis get it but it seems to bypass *almost* everyone else.
It has nothing to do with the British or Americans. It’s extremely obvious that she’s not being arrogant at all and if you think that you’re either stupid or jealous..maybe both. How would you feel if someone who only saw a bad picture of you suddenly met you and said “wow you’re not ugly at all”…that’s an extremely rude thing to say to someone yet I’m sure the person who said it would think it’s a compliment. But in any case Emma always looks pretty so I don’t get why someone would say that at all.

I’m American and I got it immediately.
It’s not just a British thing, I knew exactly what she meant by that quote (and I’ve never been to England in my life) as soon as I read it.
I see it all the time in the U.S too. For example, I was reading a comic the other day where a husband says something like ” I would much rather be married to an average girl than a super hot chick”, to his wife and she gets this look on her face.
I think you underestimate Americans or just don’t know us very well and anyways, how would you know where those people come from?? For all we know they could be in England as well.
…so anyway, nice photoshoot. I laughed at that bit where the woman gave Emma a ’sort of’ compliment. Emma’s response is like a ‘thanks…I think”.
It’s not just a British thing but Brits use that kind of humour more I think, which is why stupid people think we’re being stuck up all the time. Anyone of any nationality (if they watch enough comedy from around the world) can tell the difference between bigging yourself up and ripping the piss.
don’t know wuts all the fuss about. she’s gorgeous! i used to go nuts about her then other hp girl casts came in so it kinda wind down. now she’s back!!!

I think she might still have got to choose which Chanel dresses she wore, rather than letting someone else make the decision for her. Wouldn’t most girls like to have that luxury?
